Getting Here
For those flying from the United States mainland, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands and San Juan, Puerto Rico are ideal airports to fly into. European visitiors can investigate St. Martin or also San Juan, as there are direct flight connections to Tortola, British Virgin Islands, the neightboring island.
Once on St. Thomas or Tortola, the only way to get to Jost is by boat. Taxis are readily available at Cyril E. King airport on St. Thomas to tak e you to Red Hook, on the East End of the island. In Red Hook, you can catch a ferry or water taxi to Jost Van Dyke. Once you are on Jost, there is no public transportation, only private taxis for hire or rental cars. Evening Star Villas can arrange for you to be picked up when you arrive and dropped off when you leave, be sure to request this service when booking.
Ferry
Jost is just a 20 minute ferry ride from Tortola (www.jostvandykeferry.com). If you are traveling from St. Thomas, Inter-Island Ferry offers a ferry from St. Thomas/St. John, several days a week. Be sure to check the ferry schedule for availability. (Inter-Island Schedule) The ferry dock is located in Great Harbour.(See Map Below) From Great Harbour, it is a 10 minute drive to the villas, which are located above Little Harbour.
Water Taxi
Dolphin Water Taxi offers water taxi service between St. Thomas and Jost Van Dyke. Check out their website (http://www.dolphinshuttle.com/) or give them a call at (340) 774-2628. The water taxi has to check-in at the Customs House in Great Harbour, but can drop you in Little Harbour, much closer to the villas and Abe’s Rentals than the ferry.
Car Rentals
Abe and Eunicy Rentals offers 3 different types of vehicle for rent. They are conveniently located at Abes by the Sea in Little Harbour, just down the hill from the villas. Call them at (954) 319-6178 or (284) 495-9329 for more information. If you decide to rent a jeep, you can arrange to be picked up at your point of arrival.
Land Taxis on Jost
If you decide not to rent a car, there are several taxi services available. Try Bun’s 284 (495-9281) or George’s land taxi 284 (495-9253) services.
Location
The Villas overlook Little Harbour, on the hill above Abe’s By The Sea, Sidney’s Peace and Love, and Harris’ Place.
